  Interview Tips

Job interviews are important tools in the hands of Companies for filling vacant positions in their organization. Every Company hopes to hire the best possible individual for the job and grow with them. Your job as a prospective candidate is to prove your worth, impress the interviewers with your personality, confidence, knowledge and skill. A lot of deserving candidates lose out during the interview because they lack practice and preparation. Make sure that does not happen to you.

  Prepare Well
  • Study the position you have applied for and analyze the strengths required for the job.
  • Research the Company by visiting the official website and read up about its services, people, competitors and corporate culture.
  • Organise a mock interview so that you can practice being interviewed.
  • Prepare your own set of questions regarding the position applied for as well as future prospects. At the end of the interview, the interviewer     may ask you if you have any questions for them. The interviewer will definitely appreciate a two way communication.

If you feel overwhelmed by the mere thought of appearing for an interview, relax! Remember, the very best of candidates face last minute jitters before appearing for an interview.

      Make the Right first Impression
  • Dress well for the interview - Opt for ‘formal’ wear rather than ‘casual’ or ‘trendy’. You must feel good about yourself, only then others will     follow suit.
  • Be on time for the interview – Being early is preferable to being late. Reach the venue a little before time and get used to the ambience.
  • Carry your updated resume in a smart folder rather than a polythene bag.
  • Maintain a good posture, be positive and clear in your communication.
  • Don’t talk too much or interrupt the interviewer.

  •   During the Interview
  • Use the experience from your practice sessions to talk clearly, fluently & confidently.
  • Maintain a good eye contact with the panel at all times.
  • The interviewer wants to see whether you can handle yourself in a stressful situation. Hence, you should remain calm and take your time in     answering questions.

There are no fixed questions for an interview. However, here are a few common questions that you can prepare for -

  • Describe yourself
  • What are your strengths and weaknesses?
  • Where do you see yourself 5 years from now?
  • Why do you want to switch jobs?
  • What have been your biggest achievements so far?
  • How do you handle a stressful situation?
  • What motivates you?
  • Can you work well in teams?
  • Can you manage people well?
  • Why should we hire you?

The job interview is an important platform for you to prove yourself to the interviewers. Use this opportunity to convince the employer of your abilities & skills.

We wish you all the best in your job search!
